The State Board of Education has decided all West Virginia students will be graded under the same scale beginning next school year.
Counties currently have varying grading scales. In some counties 90-100 is an A, while in others it's 94-100.
Deputy State Superintendent of Schools Steve Payne says there is a perception that different grading scales becomes a
disadvantage to students seeking the PROMISE Scholarship. Payne contends that's not true, but it is a perception.
The new scale, which begins July 1, lists 93-100 for an A, 85-92 for a B, 75-84 will be a C, 65-74 is a D and 0-64 is an F. |
