Student Life at Glenville State College held their first annual Student Life Awards Ceremony. The event was held in the
Verona Mapel Room on the first floor of the Heflin Student Union.
The awards ceremony was held to honor the faculty,
staff, and students of GSC who best represented the goals of Student Life over the past two semesters.
The evening began with an introduction and welcome by Stephanie Wines, GSC's Director of Student Activities. Next,
Cheryl McKinney, Vice President of Student Life, made a few opening remarks about the importance of Student Life on the
GSC campus.The awards were given out by Patrick Hall, Bonnie Bever, Stephanie Wines, Cheryl McKinney, and
Jennifer Butler.

The Renaissance Pioneers for the year were also recognized with special awards. The Renaissance of Shared Values is made
up of seven shared values that serve as the foundation for the College. In addition to living the values every day, each month
GSC honors two students and two faculty and/or staff members with an award for the corresponding value of the month
Nominations are accepted each month for the value that is being recognized and then the winners are chosen from the

The ceremony ended with closing remarks by Glenville State College President Dr. Thomas H. Powell, who talked about the
importance of student involvement in the College and its organizations.
