Two children, ages 12 and 14, were reported missing Saturday evening in the Rush
Run area of Rt. 7 between Russett and Stumptown. The Grantsville VFD and other
emergency workers were unable to reach the area because the highway was
flooded at both ends.
The children were found, and returned safely to their residence.
Two other kids were reported to be stranded on a car roof, surrounded by water at
Cabot Station about noon today. Grantsville firemen said the vehicle was under
water when they arrived, the kids had apparently managed to remove themselves.
The report said they were trying to get through flood waters.
Route 5 is still closed Sunday afternoon, in addition to Rt. 7.
