The National Weather Service says be ready for some thunderstorms over the weekend. A series of violent thunderstorms
have been moving across the northern and central half of West Virginia.
Saturday the weather will be
partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms until mid-morning, then there will be numerous showers and
thunderstorms. Rain may be heavy at times.
Saturday night the chance of showers and thunderstorms continues with lows in the mid -60s.
Sunday - more of the same.
These storms have been packing high winds and a lot of rain. Meteorologist Tom Mazza with the Weather Bureau in
Charleston says some of the winds contained in the storm system brought down trees in Ritchie County.
A tree fell on a truck on Route 5 west of Grantsville last night, and heavy rainfall caused streams to rapidly rise.
Officials anticipate the weather will continue to be violent through Sunday when a cold front pushes the system out of the
state.
