Two Calhoun Middle School students have won second and third place in a student film-making competition which had 33
entries from 12 counties.
Second Place in Middle School competition went to Anissa Holcomb and Jacob Richards from Calhoun Middle for "Lights
On! Celebration."
Third Place in the competition went to Calhoun Middle student Anissa Holcomb for her "CCMS-TV Newscast Summer
2002."
The competition ended Sunday with WOWK Channel
13 making an appearance to video a portion of the contest. The segment aired Sunday at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
and Monday morning at 6 a.m.
The students were recognized for the creativity involved in the
film-making process, with encouragement given to each of them to continue down the path of becoming professional
filmmakers.
B.J. Gudmundsson did the judging for the competition and making compilations of
each film so that each student's entry could be seen.
