An Asplundh tree trimmer fell about 25 feet from a tree he was cutting. The accident happened in a remote area near Richardson, along the lower West Fork. The Bickmore, Clay County man, who was about 40, was life-flighted by HealthNet chopper shortly after noon today.

He reportedly suffered some serious injuries, likely to the chest, with the possibility of other internal injuries.

Calhoun EMS and members of the Arnoldsburg VFD quickly responded to an area near Connolly Hill, accessed by an oil and gas field road. There were dozens of fallen and broken trees from the February ice storm

The tree trimmers were cutting around an electric company right-of-way on the old George Duskey farm, not far from Richardson. Other members of the work crew were present when the man fell, and called 911 at 11:18 a.m.

HealthNet landed in a large meadow which was once the site of the long-gone Village of Richardson, which once had stores, hotels, mills, blacksmith shop, drug store and a physician's office.
