The Calhoun County Board of Education met Monday evening, May 5.
Members present for the meeting included Ralph Cunningham, Richard Fitzwater, Carlene Frederick, Donald Harris and Burl Simers;
Ronald Blankenship, Secretary.
DELEGATIONS:
Ronald Nichols, Executive Director, RESA V, made a presentation to the Board regarding services provided.
REPORTS:
Mrs. Frederick reported on the April 23, 2003 RESA Executive Board meeting and
Mr. Cunningham reported on the April 29, 2003 CGCC Administrative Council meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
A closed expulsion hearing was held for students 2002-03/06, 2002-03/11 and 2002-03/12. The expulsion hearing was postponed for student 2002-03/08. Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that student 2002-03/06 be expelled for one calendar year, student 2002-03/11 be expelled for 45 days and student 2002-03/12 be expelled for the remainder of the school year. Motion carried unanimously.
An open expulsion hearing was held for students 2002-03/07, 2002-03/09, and 2002-03/10. Mr. Cunningham moved and Mr. Harris seconded that students 2002-03/07, 2002-03/09 and 2002-03/10 be expelled for one calendar year. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that the following new business be approved as presented:

Motion carried with Mr. Simers abstaining on one item.

Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that the following financial matters be approved:

Supplement - $12,510.00;
Transfer - $16,696.26.
