A Georgia financial management company is exploring the opening of a facility in
Spencer, according to Mark Whitley, Roane County Economic Development Director.
The company has looked at the former Kellwood building as a possible location.
Financial Asset Management Systems (FAMS) is looking at opening a third operation
which would initially employee 100 people, but a company representative said that
number could grow to 250 in 18 months.
FAMS is an industry leader in accounts receivable and collection, and is quick to
point out they are not a telemarketing company.
The company needs applications now for possible employment. Applications and
resumes must be submitted prior to interviews, which are scheduled next week, May
12-16th, at the Spencer Municipal Building.
Mark Whitely said the company has a starting rate of $7 to $9 per hour, in addition to
commissions and uncapped bonuses. "They offer medical, dental, vision, 401K
savings and other fringe benefits," he said.
The company is looking for individuals with experience in banking, retail or other
business experience, but they will train people with good communication skills,
typing and computer skills.
Background, credit and drug screenings are required to be hired.
