April Stevens Miller, a former Calhoun resident, will be speaking during the worship services at the Mt. Zion UM Church starting at 10 a.m. Sunday. She will share about her missionary trip to Haiti.
The Mt. Zion UM Women will hold a tea Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. honoring the charter members of the group, according to Melody Swearing.
The women's group was established in the 60's as the Women's Society for Christian Service.
Among those being honored, Louise Estep, Eupha McKee, Ettalean Kerby, Zelda Siers and Lizzie Stout.
There will be a memorial table for Edna Schartiger, Veta Linville, Nell Yoak, Mabel McEndree and Evelyn Sampson.
All UM women, past and present members, are invited to attend, in addition to family members and friends. |
