The murder trial of "Tattoo Vince" Golosow, 41, began yesterday with a day-long
selection of jurors, as the Roane County Circuit Court began the case.
At 2:30 p.m. yesterday, four of nine jurors had been seated from a beginning pool of
74. The court room was crowded with potential jurors and spectators.
Golosow, a resident of Tariff, is charged with the murder of his former friend Judd
Reid last October, in what appears to be a drug deal gone bad.
Reid's decomposed body was discovered in the Pisgah Ridge area of Clay County,
where it was dumped.
Spencer Newspapers covered last week's pre-trial hearing. They reported Reid
allegedly gave Golosow $1,600 for a pound of marijuana, and said his
son-in-law wanted 20 more pounds if the marijuana was of good quality.
Golosow allegedly took the money, but never delivered the drugs. (See story 4/24/03)
During a shopping trip for a gun, Golosow allegedly told Cummings, "Don't worry. This
isn't Judd's money."
Richard Cummings and Sandra Kahlaf, who are scheduled to testify in the case, said
they saw blood in the Golosow yard, to discover that Reid was shot through the
head, face down in the bathroom.
Golosow and Cummings, according to the pre-trail testimony, removed the body after
Kahlaf cleaned the area.
The Golosow case is one of at least three recent murders in Roane.
The trail will officially begin today.
