Frances Peal Varner Meadows, 74, of Normantown, died April 25, 2003 in St. Joseph
Hospital, Parkersburg, after a long illness.
Born in Calhoun, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Waitman and Glada
Bennett Suttles. She was a former employee of Kellwood Company in Spencer and
the Kinney Shoe Company. She was a former switchboard operator at Lockney for
Bell Alantic.
Surviving, son, James Lee Shields of Glenville; daughters and sons-in-law, Wyvonne
Church and her husband Fred of Orma, Glada Stump and her husband Roger of Five
Forks; Jerry White and her husband Austin of Normantown, Charlotte Miller and her
husband John of Shock; sisters, Violet Mellott of Spencer and Elizabeth Meadows of
Stonewood; twin brother, Seymore Earl Suttle of Ohio; ten grandchildren, eighteen
great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Varner and her second
husband, Carl Meadows; brothers, Eugene and Ralph Suttles.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday at the Stump Funeral Home in
Arnoldsburg with the Rev. Harry Siers and Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will
be in the Miller Cemetery at Shock. Friends may call at the funeral home 6-9 p.m.
Sunday.
