METH LAB EQUIPMENT DISCOVERED - Found Dumped In Roane

(04/24/2003)
The makings of two meth labs have been found in Roane and Lincoln Counties. Authorities are investigating.

What appeared to be pieces of a drug lab were found dumped along a rural Roane County road last week, according to State Police.

Spencer Newspapers said an anonymous caller reported some suspicious materials in a ditch on Pad Fork Road, between Johnson Creek and Ferrell Run in the Walton area.

Officers in Lincoln County discovered a meth lab near Alum Creek on Wednesday and are looking for suspects.

A Roane County man who was caught with meth equipment later moved to Lincoln County, where he was arrested following another drug manufacturing incident.

A State Police special unit whose members have been trained in hazardous substances collected the materials found in Roane, stashed in trash bags and disposable coolers. The cleanup took about three hours.
