One great view of the Little Kanawha River valley is from Richard Kirby's camp on a
ridge above his farm on Lemuel's Run, now known as Bryner Road.
Kirby, who has been Calhoun's County Clerk for several years, constructed the cabin
for hunting, for his family and friends.
The view is awesome, including the morning these pictures were taken as the fog
hovers above the river which makes a giant bend.
The grouse have become very friendly and follows us around, said Kirby.
"It's what makes life worthwhile here," he said.
