The Grantsville Lions Club will assist with Relay for Life Bingo on May 3. The club will
donate a 50-year pin and club history to be placed in the "Yesterday's Tomorrow's"
time capsule at the Calhoun County Park.
The members will loan the club bell to the CCHS Class of 1948 for use in a necrology
ceremony at their reunion.
Sight chairman Curtis Gregory, reported several pair of used glasses have been
donated to the club using new collection boxes placed in the community.
The club voted to sponsor Victoria Lamont as a candidate for Queen Flora (Wood
Festival), approved $750 to assist with Calhoun High senior awards banquet, and to
donate $100 to the Grantsville VFD for their fundraiser for a new fire truck.
Members enjoyed a meal provided by Jim McCormick and listened to a program by
Deborah Hartshorn of the Youth Advantage Program. A prospective member, James
K. Hardman, was presented to the club.
The club met at the Grantsville VFD hall, where Matt Kirby gave members a tour of
the facility.
