"STRIDE INTO SPRING' WALKERS WILL MEET SATURDAY - 149 People Signed For Program

(04/23/2003)
The first monthly meeting for "Stride into Spring" walkers will be held this Saturday, April 26, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Calhoun County Park barn. "The program has gotten off to a great start," said Tony Russell, a representative of the Community Wellness Council, which sponsors the program. "Over a hundred and forty people have signed up, and I see people walking everywhere!"

The meeting on the 26th will include a presentation by Alan Humphrey, who is a Physicians Assistant at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, and a question-and-answer session. The morning will end with a group walk at the park. "Attendance isn't mandatory," Russell said, "but we hope people will turn out and just have a good time." Participants should turn in their first month logs to their reporters so they can be submitted then; second month logs will also be available at the meeting.

Participants who can't make the Saturday meeting can turn in their first month logs to Henry Cooper at the Library, to Mike Ritchie at CCCOA, to Steve Whited at Minnie Hamilton, or to Linda Simmons at the Lights On! office, and pick up their logs for the second month at the same locations. If you have any questions, call Tony Russell at 354-7595.
