A former Calhoun County man has reportedly given information to U. S. Marshals regarding unsolved murders which have occurred in Roane and Clay County.
William Billy Hayes, 25, of Ovapa, Clay County, was a former resident of the Arnoldsburg-Beech area. His current address is in an area which has been coined "Murder Mountain."
Hayes has reportedly told authorities he has information regarding the murders of two women, indicating he may know the identity of a person connected to the cases.
Braxton County deputies and U. S. Marshals caught Hayes last Friday at John
Skidmore's Truck Stop, after what was described as high-tech surveillance. He had
eluded authorities on two occasions and was wanted for federal parole
violations.
The Braxton Citizens News said the April 11 arrest concluded one investigation and
has rendered valuable information in at least two open murder cases.
A Roane County woman, Christian Dawn Starcher Seabolt, 18, disappeared last
August when she left a Spencer apartment for cigarettes. She has variously been
connected with "Tattoo Vince" Golosow of Tariff, who has been charged with the
murder of Roane resident Judson Reid, 52.
Reid's decomposed body was discovered on Pisgah Ridge near of the Town of
Clay.
Seabolt's mother told Spencer Newspapers the connection with Golosow was
misinformation.
Authorities used high tech equipment to monitor cell phone calls Hayes made to his
mother in Charleston from Skidmore's motel.
Hayes is currently being housed in Central Regional Jail without bond, but will be
transferred to the state penitentiary to serve sentences from previous
convictions.
