Phyllis Malona (L) and Cheryl Jarvis (R) help with packing
Long tables of items ready for shipment to soldiers
The community has been very generous with donating items to send to our military soldiers, according to Phyllis Malona,
coordinator for the "Behind America's Best" Calhoun County group. The first mailing of hundreds of items was being put
together yesterday evening at the Pleasant Hill UM Church.."I would like to personally thank the community for their support
thus far. The group will not stop until we have our families and friends back home," said Malona.
Hundreds of letters, pictures, small books and tapes were also being shipped, mostly prepared by Calhoun students.
Grace Richards (L) and Ann Smith (R) prepare student letters for mailing
The BAB group meets on Tuesday's at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Hill UM Church.
To insure each soldier receives a package, the Hur Herald would like to remind families to re-submit addresses of service
men and women if they have changed recently.
