Administrative changes were made at last night's Calhoun County Board of
Education meeting. A principal position held by retiring Roger Propst has
essentially been eliminated, apparently to meet state requirements of pupil to
administration/teacher guidelines.
The position was replaced by current school employees. Tim Davis was hired as the
new Athletic Director at Calhoun Middle/High School, a position originally covered by
Propst. Donald Price was hired one-half time as an Assistant Principal. Emilio Garza
is also an Assistant Principal at CM/HS.
Michael Offutt will be the only full-time principal of Calhoun Middle/High School.
The early part of last night's board meeting dealt with the expulsion of a sixth grade
student, whose record showed long-term absences and behavioral problems.
The Board was presented with details of Calhoun's Report Card, which reflects how
the local school system is doing.
Other details of last night's meeting to follow.
