- Mayor Gary Knight read a statement regarding concerns he has about coverage of
council meetings by Calhoun Chronicle, also listing accomplishments.
- Luke Peters from MOVRC presented document for signature for Small Cities Block
Grant for sewage project.
- Steve Satterfield was not present to discuss his proposal for town property.
- Council entered into agreement with Jason Swearigen to make repairs on trash
truck.
- Businessman Jim Morris made a trade proposal for the town hall, trading buildings
and property (256 and 254 Court Street) for town hall real estate on which he would
construct a professional building. Morris said he did not want the town parking lot.
The property Morris is offering is on the flood plain. Mayor Knight asked why the
Stump Hotel has not been repaired. Morris said a contract would be let on April
14.
- Council approved the use of town property for a Relay for Life yard sale.
- Chief McCroskey suggested the council consider all options for building sites for
the city office. He also mentioned Larry Heiney had other options for the town.
- A question was raised, why Steve Satterfield was not at the meeting to present
his proposal.
- Kenny Whytsell stated Phil Shuman with Go-Mart had mentioned the company was
interested in a Go-Mart for the town.
- Mayor Knight said the council needs to make a decision to determine if they want to
trade property for a new city office building.P>
- Mayor Knight said they should look at this building (old facility) and determine if it can
be renovated.
- Mayor Knight said the town has not solicited any offers, but was approached by
Satterfield and the council had agreed to listen to his proposal.
- Mayor Knight also stated a professional needed to be brought in to look at the building,
then the town will advertise for proposals.
- Mayor Knight asked council for a motion to hire necessary professional help
(engineer, contractor, appraiser) to estimate costs and/or appraise property. The
motion passed.
- Council voted on a third reading on a household garbage/trash ordinance. The
ordinance allows the town to collect garbage fees for trash left behind when
residents move.
- Council voted to give permission to the Wood Festival to use town property.
- Council voted to give John and Sue Oshoway permission to hold an easter egg hunt at the town
park.
- Mayor Knight said he had been approached by Dick Jarvis regarding the placement
of flags on Main Street. Council is discussing the project.
- A single application was received for pool manger. Dave Trippett was hired, having all
the credentials.
- Council will advertise for lifeguards.
- Mayor Knight expressed thanks to Heather and Amber Davis for cleaning the town
park.
- Approval was given ($1,000 limit) for Chief McCroskey to purchase a new
computer.
- Council will look at purchasing a small trash truck from Dept. of Highway inventory, if
money is available.

- Discussion on the burned out Shaffer house on Main Street. Mayor Knight said
Calhoun Banks have placed a lien on the property, if they end up with it,
they should have it torn down before selling the property.

- Councilwoman Shock said there is stagnant water on Wigner Street. Mayor Knight
said it was up to the police to issue a citation.
- Discussion about the posting of the Council agenda. The agenda is posted on the city office door five days prior to the meeting. Mayor Knight and Recorder Wease both
stated that there were times the Chronicle did not print the minutes.
- Council went into executive session at 8:29 p.m. and returned at 8:45 p.m.
- Bonnie Brown made a motion to continue Joann Westfall for 20 hours week
at minimum wage, seconded by Cheryl Davis, motion passed unanimously.

Shock.
