West Virginia State Police said a fatal fire in Calhoun County is now a murder-suicide investigation.
Troopers said on Saturday emergency dispatchers received a call from a man believed to be Harvey Haerr, living near Liberty Hill, concerning a house fire on Beech Road.
Investigators said when they arrived on the scene they found Haerr dead from a gunshot wound outside of the burning house.
Investigators discovered human remains in the debris of the house. They believe the remains are that of Haerr's wife, Elizabeth Haerr, 62.
The remains were sent to the Medical Examiner's Office for identification and an autopsy
