Dear Editor,
Thank you so much for posting the link to my web site in honor of Pfc.
Jessica Lynch last week on the Herald web site. The response has been
overwhelming, with dozens of gracious West Virginians e-mailing me,
including two friends of the Lynch family, and State Senator Donna
Boley. I am very humbled by everyone's kind words.
I have added a message "Board of Honor" to the web site...for the
specific purpose of allowing everyone to post Jessica get well wishes,
and let her know how proud we are of her. Jessica has a long and
difficult road ahead of her; and I can think of no medicine better than
her seeing how much she is loved and cared for by Americans from
everywhere. A friend that's a nurse told me that Jessica's attitude is
crucial for her recovery...there will be days she will feel like
giving up. Knowing she is loved, being able to see that folks back home
are supporting her will definitely help keep her spirits up.
I created the web site for the sole reason of honoring Jessica. I seek
no glory and no reward. My reward will be knowing Jessica is happy and
healthy in five years; and living her dream of teaching children. I'd
greatly appreciate it if you'd let the Hur Herald readers know about the
"get well Jessica message board of honor".
I'm e-mailing everyone I can think of....I'd love for Jessica to see
hundreds, even thousands of posts wishing her well, and expressing
gratitude and thanks to her. Even if she's still unable to use a
computer, her family could read the messages of support to her. I know
there has to be a laptop computer somewhere in the hospital where she is
recovering.
Again, thanks so much.
Sincerely,
Perry Williams
Jessica
