This week we are republishing a few of the many stories we have done on the Bear Fork Wilderness and families connected to the place.
To say the least, during my long lifetime, I have had a fascination for the place, still ongoing, particularly the stalwart families who began to come to the early in early 1800s.
We had intended to publish a book called "Tales of Bear Fork," but unfortunately the interest was under-whelming.
We suggest readers who are interested in the stories to make copies while the Hur Herald is on-line.
Over many years, we extend our deep gratitude to the many people who have helped with the stories, including Gilmer historian, the late Ron Miller. |
