Reminiscing is an activity of folks when they begin to age. Someone said it
rearranges reality to make the past far more worthwhile than it really was.
I am beyond the pale, firmly convinced it was better. It was.
The reality of aging has struck me by the submission of "old pictures" from the 50's
and 60's by Morris Bower. Norma Knotts Shaffer, who has done more than any one
person to collect and preserve old photos from Calhoun, said Morris' pictures
changed her perception, too.
I've got a large collection of pictures, which I've not considered old enough to be
published, and I now intend to do so. Some will be old and some will be newer.
They may be viewed by clicking on "LOOKING BACK A Photo Scrapbook" above "Recent News Updates, on the main
page.
Morris Bowers' collection is also under the heading, along with photos our readers
send to us. We want descriptions with the photos, please.
We have received dozens and dozens of e-mails and letters regarding PHOTO OF
THE DAY and MOMENTS IN TIME, collected and edited by Associate Editor Norma
Knotts Shaffer. Norma has added new photos recently, check them out.
