Burl Simers of Grantsville, among Calhoun's longtime car enthusiasts and auto racers, won the season opener at Kanawha
Valley Dragway on Saturday. The margin of victory was .055 seconds with a time of 6.741 seconds. Burl has raced in
Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio and Kentucky along with several West Virginia raceways.
