Several health care centers in the region will receive funding totaling over $18 million for the state as a part of the American Rescue Plan.
The funds are designed to strengthen primary healthcare centers and improve healthcare options in underserved communities.
Distributed through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the funds will support COVID-19 efforts such as testing, treatment and vaccinations.
The following health centers in the region received funding:
* Wirt County Health Service Association, Inc.: $675,021
* Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center: $646,641
* Ritchie County Primary Care Association: $585,294
* Roane Family Health Care: $557,563
