Since a mask mandate was lifted last Spring by Gov. Jim Justice, he has yet to call for a new one, leaving 55 counties to make a decision about masking. A number of county school systems have yet to do so.
Justice has been facing public protests against masking, essentially saying it is a violation of personal rights.
A Rex Repass WV Poll gives Justice high marks for his handling of the pandemic.
According to the DHHR dashboard, there are currently 22,972 active cases.
