Active cases of the coronavirus has passed 7,000 in West Virginia on Tuesday as state health officials reported 12 new COVID-19 deaths and 1,339 new positive cases.

Only three WV counties in low-level green.

Calhoun has seven new cases since last Friday.

There were 7,017 active cases Tuesday. The state Department of Health and Human Resources said 700 of the 1,339 newest COVID cases were from the last five days.

The state’s cumulative positive test rate was at 5.00%. The daily positive test rate increased from 9.14% Monday to 11.26% Tuesday.

There were 369 patients in hospitals, including 127 in the intensive care unit and 54 using ventilators.

COVID-19 recoveries were at 164,811.

Delta variant cases of the coronavirus were at 334.

The state’s data shows 0.34% of fully vaccinated people in the state have gotten COVID. The data also shows 0.006% of those who are fully vaccinated have died from the virus.
