More than 300 people in West Virginia are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, according to Fridayâs update from state health officials.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported 312 patients were in hospitals, including 109 in the intensive care unit and 42 using ventilators.
The DHHR reported one new COVID death and 243 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Active cases were at 5,312.
The stateâs cumulative positive test rate was at 4.95%. The daily positive test rate decreased from 5.28% Thursday to 1.44% Friday.
COVID-19 recoveries were at 163,656.
Delta variant cases of the coronavirus were at 317.
Less than 1/3 percent of those fully vaccinated have gotten the virus.
The stateâs data shows 0.30% of fully vaccinated people in the state have gotten COVID. The data also shows 0.006% of those who are fully vaccinated have died from the virus.
