HUNTINGTON WOMAN SHOOTS BOYFRIEND - Huntington police said a woman was arrested after she said she shot and wounded her boyfriend following a domestic situation.
Ladreisha Flowers, 26, was charged Wednesday with malicious wounding, possession of a controlled substance with intent, DUI, fleeing in a vehicle while DUI and threatening an officer, according to a news release from the Huntington Police Department.
Police said Flowers told them she had shot her boyfriend, Kenneth Alexander, 36, of Hamtramck, Mich., in response to domestic abuse. Police said she became uncooperative and belligerent when officers asked her for additional details.
Alexander told police his girlfriend had dropped him off at the emergency room to get treatment for a gunshot wound to his upper leg.
Police said Alexander claimed he had been shot at a parking lot downtown by an unknown suspect. The news release said the police departmentâs initial investigation didnât find any evidence of a shooting in the area as described by Alexander.
Officers said they responded to a home in the 1000 block of Minton Street in search of Flowers, Alexanderâs girlfriend. Police discovered evidence that indicated the shooting occurred inside Flowerâs residence.
While at Flowersâ residence, police said, officers saw Flowers driving and attempted to pull her vehicle over. Police said Flowers pulled over in the 1800 block of 12th Avenue after a short pursuit.
Alexander was treated and released from the hospital but was immediately taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrants for malicious wounding, two counts of domestic battery and the unlawful taking of a vehicle. The warrants were unrelated to Wednesday's incident.
HUNTINGTON STABBING - A Huntington man has been arrested after police say he stabbed another man Wednesday morning.
Robert Dylan Zickefoose is charged with malicious wounding, according to an email from City of Huntington spokesman Bryan Chambers.
Police responded around midnight in the 2900 block of Fourth Avenue. A man at the scene said he had been stabbed in both hands by another man.
Zickefoose was arrested at the scene.
