Roane General Hospital administrator Doug Bentz says RGH has filed a Certificate of Need with the WV-Healthcare Cost Review Authority to locate a Rural Health Clinic in Arnoldsburg.
Bentz acknowledged that a large number of patients already come to Roane General from Washington-Lee Districts.
The cost of the project is estimated at $439,720, they are considering a 2,000 square foot modular building with 4-5 examination rooms.
"We are currently waiting to receive approval through the authority," said Bentz.
The clinic would be staffed with a primary care provider and other health care specialists.
Roane General recently completed a multi-million dollar expansion of facilities and services in Spencer.
Minnie Hamilton has been required to cancel their long term contract for their Glenville Clinic location, being replaced by a new health service.
They will continue to provide services in Gilmer County.
