Two more coronavirus-related deaths and 178 new virus cases were reported Friday in West Virginia, state health officials said.
It appears that Calhoun has one or two cases during the past week.
35 of the new cases are Delta Strain.
The DHHR said the two deaths reported on Fridayâs dashboard are a result of the Bureau for Public Healthâs continuing data reconciliation with the official death certificate. Officials listed 11 deaths on Thursday that previously had been unreported.
West Virginiaâs death total for the pandemic has now risen to 2,936.
Active cases continue to climb, up 99 cases, and were at 1,324. The stateâs cumulative positive test rate remained unchanged at 4.94%, while the daily positive test rate jumped from 2.61% to 3.68%.
Hospitalizations increased by one and were at 90 with 35 in intensive care and 16 on a ventilator. Recoveries were listed at 161.443.
