GUNFIRE - Huntington police said two men have been charged in connection with an incident in which multiple shots were fired Monday at a housing community.
Austin Bruce Jeffreys, 27, of Huntington and Daniel Dale Coubert, 29, of Ashland were taken into custody Friday by members of the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force, according to a news release from the Huntington Police Department.
Police said the men are suspected of driving to the Marcum Terrace housing community and firing multiple shots from their vehicle.
Jeffreys has been charged with wanton endangerment, and Coubert has been charged with conspiracy. More charges are expected to be filed in the coming days.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Western Regional Jail. Jeffreysâ bond was set at $66,500. No bond amount was listed for Coubert.
Detectives with the Huntington Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms assisted in the investigation.
JUVENILES ATTACKED - The Huntington Police Department is asking for witnessesâ help identifying suspects in an investigation after three juveniles were attacked early Sunday morning.
The juveniles were attacked by a large group of men about 2 a.m. on Sunday in the 200 block of 10th Street, according to a news release from the police department. One of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries and has been hospitalized since.
Police said they believe there were several witnesses who saw the incident and may have videoed the attack.
