Coronavirus numbers continue to decline in the Mountain State as the Department of Health and Human Resource's latest data update shows declines in new positive cases, hospitalizations and active cases.
Calhoun has had three new cases since last Friday with six new cases the previous week.
West Virginia health officials on Tuesday reported three coronavirus deaths and 77 new positive virus cases. The latest deaths bring the stateâs death total from the pandemic to 2,856.
DHHR officials reported there were 2,710 active cases Tuesday, which is 89 fewer than the previous day. The cumulative positive test rate remained at 5.09%, while the daily positive test rate increased from 2.46% to 2.53%.
As for hospitalizations, 119 patients with COVID were in the hospital, which is 13 less than Monday's update and the lowest total since August 2020. There were 41 patients in intensive care and 18 on ventilators in the latest update. Recoveries were at 157,655.
There have been 708,352 people become fully vaccinated in West Virginia.
