West Virginia health officials confirmed three new COVID-19 deaths in the state Friday and 285 new positive cases. A death was reported in Gilmer County.
The latest deaths bring the stateâs pandemic death toll to 2,772, according to the state Department of Health and Human Resources.
The DHHR reported there were 5,791 active cases.
The daily positive test rate decreased from 4.27% to 3.53%, while the overall positive test rate decreased from 5.12% to 5.11%.
As of data from Thursday, there were 228 hospitalizations from the virus, including 79 people in intensive care and 33 on ventilators.
There have been 654,692 people in the state become fully vaccinated. There have been 151,172 recoveries from the virus since the start of the pandemic.
