Velora Pearl Lane, 90, formerly of Sand Ridge WV entered into rest on May 20, 2021. She was born March 12, 1931 in Newton, WV. She was the daughter of the late William Harley Keaton and Zona Chapman Hickman.
Velora was well known for her large gardens and willingness to share with everyone. She was an award-winning quilt maker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hurl O. Lane; brothers, Bobby and Virgil Keaton; sisters, Vada White, Jenivee Smith and Orva Graves; and step-sons, Eugene and Kenneth Lane.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald Thomas, Milton and Norman Lane; daughters, Rita Butler and Deborah Cooper; brothers, Vandale and Paul Keaton; sisters, May Hicks, Virginia Marion, Judy Hughes and Jeannie Nottingham; twenty grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer WV, with Pastor Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will follow at Keaton Family Cemetery in Roane County WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
