Active COVID-19 cases in West Virginia fell below 6,000 on Wednesday for the first time since March 25.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed 5,983 cases in its daily report Wednesday. The DHHR added 261 new cases in the report. The daily positivity test rate on Wednesday is 3.05%.
It appears Calhoun has five new cases this week.
More than 705,000 West Virginians have been full vaccinated against COVID-19, equaling 39.3%.
47.4% of West Virginians have received at least one shot, 47.4%.
