Minnie Hamilton Health System was notified by phone yesterday afternoon by Glenville State College Foundation representatives that they were exercising their right to terminate the 40-year long-term lease that provided MHHS the clinic space at the WACO Center in Glenville and that a press release would be published today in local media.
That posting has now been made public. This announcement does not change Minnie Hamiltonâs commitment to Gilmer County communities and our employees that have faithfully served those communities for the last 23 years.
As healthcare professionals, we are excited for the communities that we serve to have the opportunity to receive specialty services locally. We have had a long-standing relationship with WVU Medicine that allowed a handful of specialty services, including pediatric cardiology and neurology, to be offered locally in recent years and look forward to the expansion of these offerings in the future. MHHS recently entered into a similar relationship with Mon Health in an effort to bring additional specialty services to our area as well.
We are eager to take on the challenges this unexpected announcement has created for our organization and the community members we serve and look forward to the opportunities that will be created out of it. As we are able to provide insight and details on how we will continue to offer those services for the Glenville area and beyond, we will communicate.
