This week, new COVID-19 outbreaks with at least four individuals, staff and students, are reported in Calhoun Schools with 143 staff, and students being quarantined.
Currently, 143 staff and students are being quarantined.
Pleasant Hill Elementary joins Calhoun Middle-High School going to remote learning.
Reports indicate that the outbreak was linked to those attending the WV girl's basketball tournament.

To be transparent with the community and respect the privacy of our employees, we want to inform you that Calhoun County Schools has one additional employee that has tested positive to COVID-19 and one student.
We also have five additional staff members that are being quarantined due to exposure. We also have 75 additional students that are being quarantined due to possible exposure. Students and staff are in the process of being notified if they are affected. We are in touch with the MOVHD and will be following the health department's guidance.
Pleasant Hill Elementary will be remote learning through Monday, May 17, and return to in-person learning on Tuesday, May 18.
Help us stop the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask, social distancing, and if you are quarantined, stay home and isolate.
PHE Parents can pick up anything needed for remote learning. Times for pickup are as follows: 1st- 8:30 am, K- 9-9:30am, 2nd- 9:45- 10:30am, 3rd- 10:45-11:30am, 4th 11:45- 12:30pm, Pre-K 1:00. If you can't pick up at your designated time, you will need to call the school to make arrangements.
There will be a free drive-thru COVID-19 testing offered through Minnie Hamilton on Monday, May 10 from 9:00-12:00 and Thursday, May 13 from 9:00-12:00 at Calhoun Middle High School. Any student or staff is welcome to come and test. However, if you have been quarantined due to an exposure or having symptoms, we encourage you to be tested.

We will be passing out food bags to all Virtual and Quarantined students on Wednesday, May 12, from 11:00-1:00 at all school locations. We are also expecting the Farm to Fresh food boxes on Wednesday, May 12, and will pass those out at Calhoun Middle High School.
As a school system, our employees do the COVID-19 screeners, take temperatures, and sanitize daily.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.  We are a close school family and will continue to provide whatever assistance we can safely provide to them during this time.  Thank you for your support of Calhoun County Schools, our students, and the school community.  Together we can get through these challenging times by continuing to support each other.Â
