The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reports 432 new positive cases Thursday.

Gilmer County High School is closed because on an outbreak, the county having an uptick.
Gilmer's OES director Squires says that although they are still investigating, they have noticed that most of the positive cases are from those ages 10-19 or 40-49, some of those positive cases coming from students at Gilmer County High School.
Outbreaks have occurred previously in Calhoun's public schools, sometimes causing closings, and reports indicate that the Little Kanawha Christian School has a current case.
Unconfirmed reports are saying that at least two Calhoun citizens are seriously ill with COVID-19.
The stateâs death toll from the coronavirus is now at 2,674. Active cases were 7,153.
The overall positive test rate decreased from 5.17% to 5.16%, and the daily positive test rate increased from 3.43% to 4.43%.
As of data from Wednesday, there were 247 people hospitalized with the coronavirus, including 78 in intensive care and 26 people on ventilators.
There have been 576,679 West Virginians become fully vaccinated and 142,906 have recovered from the virus since the pandemic began in 2020.
