| The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 364 new COVID-19 cases and 15 additional deaths in its report on Wednesday.
The DHHR confirmed 277 new COVID-19 cases and 11 additional deaths in its report on Tuesday.
The report from the DHHR stated that as of 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, there have been a total of 2,508,198 (+8,391) laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 144,374 (+364) total cases and 2,722 (+15) of those cases resulting in deaths.
According to the DHHRâs COVID-19 dashboard, there are currently 6,897 (+43) active cases and 134,755 (+306) recovered cases in the state.

As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested. Such is the case of Hancock County in this report.
