The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported five new COVID-19 deaths on Friday and 420 new positive cases.
WV cases are moving upwards.
Calhoun has five new cases this week.
The pandemic death total for the state is now 2,688, according to the DHHR.
The stateâs total active cases are now at 6,642. The overall positive test rate decreased slightly from 5.26% to 5.25%, and the daily positive test rate decreased from 4.17% to 3.48%.
As of Thursday, hospitalizations were at 244, including 81 in intensive care and 23 people on ventilators.
The data on Friday showed 518,543 residents have received at least a first dose, and 342,851 people have been fully vaccinated.
There have been 133,323 COVID-19 recoveries in the state since the start of the pandemic.
