The active COVID-19 case total in West Virginia moved above 6,000 again on Saturday as the state added 566 new positive cases.
The active total is now at 6,056, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The overall positive test rate dropped slightly to 5.26% while the daily positive test rate came in at 4.53% for the day.
Hospitalizations due to the virus dropped by nine in West Virginia to 222, while the number of people in intensive care units increased slightly to 83. There are 18 people on ventilators, down by two from the previous day.

More than 480,000 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines and 306,129 residents have been fully vaccinated.
