Jason Brell Knight, 42, of Newton WV, died Saturday, March 13, 2021, in Clay County.
He was born May 15, 1978 at Spencer, the son of William Franklin and Sharlene Browning Knight of Newton.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his daughter, Zoey Knight of Newton; sister and brother-in-law, Tiffany and Will Bowers of Owings Mills, MD.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Smith and Norma Knight; maternal grandparents, Hunter and Goldie Browning.
He was a rig hand and welder's helper who had previously worked for Pete Gould and Derrick Drilling. Jason was a 1996 graduate of Roane County High School.
His pastimes included fishing, spending time on the Elk River and listening to his favorite band, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21 at the Hill Cemetery, Big Pigeon, with the Rev. Robert Keen officiating. Visitation will be thirty minutes before the service.
