UPDATE 3/24/2021 - Gilmer County authorities reported Wednesday afternoon they made a second arrest related to a fleeing vehicle incident in Calhoun and Gilmer.
The name of the man was not available.
UPDATE 3/23/2021- Calhoun authorities arrested Britney Dawn Shelley, 28, connected to an incident Monday night.
Shelley is charged possession of meth precursor, conspiracy, possession of marijuana, obstructing, defective equipment and expired MVI.
She is in Central Regional Jail.
Police are searching for a male subject involved in the same incident.
ORIGINAL STORY 3/22/2021 - Calhoun law enforcement attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle on US 33-119 East (Bear Fork) about 7 p.m. Monday, the vehicle failing to stop, at times speeding at a high rate of speed.
The WV State Police and the Calhoun Sheriffs Department continued the pursuit into Normantown, Gilmer County, when the vehicle turned on a side road (Gassaway Road).
A male and a female passenger in the vehicle, a Suburban-like SUV with a broken window, temporary tags.
Officers from Gilmer County also responded.
Calhoun EMS was staging.
A police cruiser caught on fire and a fire department was summoned.
One reports indicated that the individuals likely left the vehicle, going into a wooded area.
A report indicated the vehicle was likely found in the Steer Creek area.
A further report indicated authorities were looking for a 30-year-old male. |
