SATURDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 386 NEW CASES

State health officials reported Saturday that West Virginia has not added any COVID-19-related deaths in the past 24 hours.

The state’s death toll during the pandemic remained at 2,600 on Saturday, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Officials confirmed 386 positive cases on the day.

West Virginia’s active case total increased by 50 to 5,399, while the overall positive test rate stayed put at 5.29%. The daily positive test rate came in at 3.22%.

Hospitalizations from the virus dropped by one to 198. There are now 67 people in intensive care and 21 on ventilators, both down one from the previous day.

The state has administered more than 436,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccines while 266,322 have been fully vaccinated.
