Robert Leon Lynch, 57, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2003 following a long battle with cancer.
He was born August 8, 1945, in Kanawha County, the son of the late Woodrow and Glenna Garrett Lynch. He was a lifelong resident of Arnoldsburg, having lived on Jessie's Run for over 30 years.
He was a dedicated member of the Walnut Grove Community Church on Barnes Run, a veteran oil field worker, and a volunteer at the Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Proud to be a witness for the Lord, Robert spent his last months here with us inspiring and encouraging everyone around him, reassuring them all, that whether he lived or passed, he was a winner either way. He never let cancer steal his faith or conquer his spirit. He was faithful until death, confident he was going to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior, where we know he is today.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 33 years, Earline Nester Lynch; a son, Robert Woodrow Lynch; daughters, Shannon Welch and her husband Steve and Cindy Castle and her husband Thomas; sister, Dorthea Lea Offutt of Noonan, Georgia; three grandsons, Jordan, Brandon and Taylor Welch.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg with the Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Flowers may be sent or donations in Robert's may sent to the American Cancer Society. |
