The Calhoun Board of Education re-newed their agreement with Minnie
Hamilton Health
Care for nursing services at Monday evenings meeting, and contracted
with Linda Workman
to provide psychological services for the system.
The Board said they made significant improvements with the graduation
exercise, including
the Presidential Academic Fitness Awards, involvement of faculty,
staff and Board of
Education members, PowerPoint presentation by Senior Class and the
development and use
of academic mace.
The Board adopted the following conditions for female attire: Dress,
shorts, or slacks with
dress shoes. Attire for males: Dress shirt with tie, dark dress
slacks, dark socks and dress
shoes. Tennis shoes will not be allowed. Students not properly attired
will not be allowed to
participate in the ceremony. Students who cannot provide the attire
are asked to contact
Mrs. Nichols, Mr. Harris, or Mr. Cartwright well in advance for
assistance.
Board members recently attended a Board Retreat on February 16-17, and
spent
considerable time discussing the evaluation tools for their
performance as board members.
Ralph Cunningham gave a report on the Calhoun Gilmer Career Center and
Carlene
Frederick gave a report on a RESA meeting.
Adult volunteers approved: Donald Kelley, Willa Lea Kelley and Betty
Sims for Pleasant Hill
School.
They voted on the following job postings: Temporary
maintenence/carpenter II; Assistant
baseball coach; Assistant softball coach; Cook III (CM/HS): Aide IV
(CM/HS).
Upon the Superintendents recommendation, Mr. Simers moved and Mrs.
Berdine seconded
