Bruce Homer Boggs, 52, passed away March 26, 2003, at Mount Carmel West Hospital Hilliard, Ohio, after a long battle with heart disease.
He was born June 9, 1950, in Weston, WV a son of Betty Hardman and Thomas Boggs. He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Secondary Education and later completed a master's degree in social work. In September 2002, he retired from Franklin County Children Services where he worked as the supervisor of the crisis call center and later in the adoptions department. Bruce was an avid OSU sports fan. He was an advocate for the needs of children and had a special gift for relating with older adults. Bruce was a member of the Cypress Wesleyan Church for many years.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Boggs of Hilliard; one son, T.J. Boggs of Hilliard; two sisters, Michelle Price of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and Gigi Boggs of Hilliard; one brother, Thomas L. Boggs Jr. of Lexington, Ky.; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas L. Boggs Sr.
He is a nephew of Glena Hardman Pitts.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ellyson Mortuary, Glenville. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
