According to the state Department of Health and Human Resources, there are now 17,761 active cases of COVID-19 in the state. Active cases have decreased by 4,809 in the past week. Hospitalizations decreased again in Fridayâs numbers, now down to 384 patients, the lowest number since mid-November.
The state added 597 confirmed COVID-19 cases Friday along with 20 deaths.
There have been 2,100 total pandemic deaths in West Virginia.
The DHHR said more than 88,000 state residents have been fully vaccinated. More than 205,000 residents have had at least one shot.
