Freda M. Bush, 69, of Spencer, died March 25, 2003, in Camden-Clark Hospital,
Parkersburg, after a short illness.
She was born November 13, 1933 in Calhoun County, a daughter of Lawrence Hale
Goodnight of Brohard and the late Dessie Mae Richards Goodnight. She was a
homemaker and president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 21 of Spencer and
the Roane County chairperson for Rhododendron Girl's State. She was an active
member of the Roane County Democratic Women's Club an the Zion United
Methodist Church.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband Robert E. Bush, whom she
married May 22, 1953; daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Randall Board of
Spencer, Janet and Robert Murray of Ripley and Kristina and Roger Starcher of
Walton; son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Tammy Bush II of Spencer.
Sisters, Mavarine Butler of Bowie, Maryland and Deloris Dye of Smithville. Brothers,
Arthur Goodnight of of Ravena, Ohio, Ronzel Goodnight of Macfarland, Delmas
Goodnight of Brohard, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 28 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor
Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. John W. Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the
Nobe Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Thursday. A memorial service will be
conducted American legion Auxiliary at 7 p.m. Thursday.
